Big Stone County is seeking applicants for the position of County Attorney
The office is full-time and located in the Big Stone County Courthouse in Ortonville, MN.
Big Stone County has a population of 5,166 and is located on beautiful Big Stone Lake.
The minimum starting annual wage is $95,000. Salary will depend on successful candidate's knowledge and experience. Generous benefits which can result in over $1145/month of additional income. In addition to other budgetary items and standard office expenses, the county will pay for the County Attorney's annual law license renewal, MCAA membership, CLEs and travel, food, and lodging for those events, and a legal research program such as Westlaw.
The County Attorney office consists of the attorney and one full time legal assistant. The successful applicant will fill the current term of the County Attorney, which runs through December 31, 2022. The position will be open to election in 2022 for a four-year term beginning January 2023. The successful applicant may run to fill the term, if resident requirements are met.
