Job Description Summary
Incumbent in these positions work independently with a minimum of supervision. They are responsible for clock operations, marketing support, equipment set-up and break down of intercollegiate athletic and/or intramural events and physical education classes.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Under 18 with work permit, high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Zero to six months of experience.
  • Experience working with Prince George’s Community College program, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to follow directions of instruction
  • Familiarity with the Largo campus
  • Ability to demonstrate dependability and patience
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletic sports
  • Extent of experience with creating flyers
  • Extent of ability to provide excellent customer service in person and on the telephone
Criteria
CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. ESSENTIAL TASKS
  • Distribution of flyers and other material regarding athletic and/or intramural events.
  • Provides set-up and break-down of intercollegiate athletics, intramural and physical education classes.
  • Assistant in the game day operation of intercollegiate athletic and/or intramural events.
  • Assistant in the preparation of inventory for all equipment housed in Novak Field House.
  • Logs and Processes intercollegiate athletic and physical education equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs of equipment as needed. Ensures timely completion of tasks.
  • Applies rules, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures of the college with regards to use of facilities and intercollegiate athletics and intramurals.
  • Assists with appropriate learning-centered activities in support of the college’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Provide critical customer service standards in support of the college’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally
defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • Extensive walking, standing, lifting, and pushing throughout the day.
  • Must have the ability to lift a filled 20-gallon water cooler.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
