Software Engineering Intern – Summer 2022 (Remote)

  

EBSCO has an exciting new Software Engineer Internship position focused on the development of our signature consumer-facing product.  You will join an existing Agile team of skilled engineers who are creating the user interface.

  

 

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Contribute to the implementation, testing, delivery, and operation of services for EBSCO’s web-based products.
  • Work directly with product management and your team while analyzing and decomposing complex software requirements into simple user stories for planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with your team to estimate the size and complexity of the features.
  • Own system and feature quality throughout the development, testing, and deployment phases to ensure quality delivery expectations are met. 
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. 
  • Work alongside other software engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices for design, coding standards, performance, security, delivery, and maintainability. 
  • Live the principles behind the Agile Manifesto and SAFe framework in all interactions. 

 

Skills or experience you need: 

 

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or other related technical area.
  • Coursework or experience in front-end web development in one of the following technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub.
