The Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan, Inc. (ITC) is a state chartered 501 C3 non-profit organization consisting of twelve federally recognized Indian Tribes in Michigan. Full-time permanent positions receive group term life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, health insurance (BCBS) and a 401(K) Retirement plan. Job Summary:

Research and identify Request for Proposals (RFPs) or Call for Grant Applications (CGAs) within the appropriate areas of service. Discuss program requirements with appropriate management to determine the feasibility of developing a program. Assemble, compose, compile grant applications, including project narratives and objectives, plans and justifications. Ensure the department meets proposal deadlines by determining priorities and target dates for information gathering, drafting, editing, revising and submitting proposals. Write and edit executive summaries, conclusions, and organizational and program descriptions. Create and maintain contracts library, paper files, database, Board of Director resolutions, and information center.

Salary: negotiable

Job Specifications:

Previous successful grant writing experience in a complex non-profit organization required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Journalism, Planning or related field a plus. Experience reviewing and/or scoring grants helpful. Must demonstrate, through documentation, recent grant writing abilities and corresponding successful funding efforts. Excellent writing, interpersonal communication and organizational skills required. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team. Preference given to qualified Native Americans
