The responsibilities of this position include providing customer service support that typically involves receiving and handling customer inquiries and responding to information requests. The incumbent communicates with customers and assists them with information, and determines how service can be rendered. Additional duties include assisting in other Court Operations departments as needed.

Work location: This position is based at the Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 4th Avenue N. in Kent, WA. The incumbent may be required to work at other facilities as assigned.
Work schedule and terms: This position is hourly (overtime-eligible) and subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is a full-time position working a 35-hour workweek. The workweek for this position is normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Variations from these hours may occur. Please note that during the 2021-2022 biennium, King County Superior Court employees are required to take up to five (5) furlough days in each year. However, the number and frequency are being assessed based on changing budget information, and is currently suspended temporarily.

The following duties are not intended to represent the entire functional capacity of the position at the task level:
A high school diploma or GED, and one year experience performing general information processing sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job mentioned above. Experience in a high-volume receptionist/customer service work is preferred. Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of various software applications including Word, Access, Excel and Outlook are required. Court or legal office experience is desirable. Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in a professional manner and maintain good working relationships. Must be a team player with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. Must have excellent written and oral communication, time management and organizational skills. Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Special requirements: The ability to reliably travel throughout the County is required. Finalists are subject to the Washington State Patrol criminal background check and a reference check. Criminal background records are not automatically disqualifying.
