City of Carlton is seeking to fill the City Clerk Position.

The City Clerk is responsible for the day to day operations of the city providing excellent customer service to its citizens. This is a part time position. It requires that the clerk be available two evenings a month for Council Meetings. We are seeking a self starting, critical thinker who has the essential knowledge of legislative methods and procedures and superior organizational skills. Candidate must take the initiative to find answers for issues that arise and use discretion and discernment prior to acting. The City will consider job candidates that have City Clerk Certification or will obtain certification within one year of employment.

Job candidate must pass background check and be bonded. The major duties are as follows: Document and facilitate City Council meetings; Public Record Management; Document / Publish ordinances and resolutions; Records Retention Management; Licensing and Permitting; Ethics Filings; Elections qualifying; Financial Administration/Municipal Accounting (accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciling bank accounts to general ledger, deposits, prep for audits, balancing end of day, year end, payroll, quarterly taxes, 1099's, W2's); Human Resources; Planning / Zoning; Utility Billing and Event Planning. Typical hours are 24 hours per week. Wage based on qualifications.
