Job Summary: Will function as a technologist mainly in the Histology Laboratory. Perform duties that may include; running various laboratory instrumentation, performing manual testing, specimen receiving and processing; computer related duties such as patient entry, test request entry/requisition format, on-line/manual entry of test results, data retrieval, printing and answering worksheets, quality control, reagent preparation, following general laboratory and safety procedures including universal precautions and chemical and biochemical hazard precautions. Minimum Qualifications:

NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a certified Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist and 2 years of histology or clinical laboratory experience required. Candidates with no histology or clinical laboratory experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary. Ability to distinguish colors required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate of accredited histotechnology program and 2 years of histology laboratory experience

Work Days:

Monday- Friday, Days
