Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper
Job Description
We have an opportunity available for a Bookkeeper at a local financial institution. You will work 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Verify and sort checks, vouchers, receipts, and journals, and total and prepare deposit slips for daily bank deposits
- Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, financial reports, and member statements
- Perform day-to-day operating functions and maintenance of electronic data, ledgers, and journals
- Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis, handle ACH transfers, draft processing, and credit care entries
- Process insurance claims, monthly reports, staff payroll, and tax reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a 2 year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or job-specific skills through an apprenticeship programs, or specialized training conducted by vendors
- Must have 3 to 5 years Bookkeeping experience
- Must have knowledge of bookkeeping principles, procedures, and accounting reports and procedures
- Must be proficient computer skills with accurate data entry skills
- Must have the ability to pay attention to details, be organized, and able to multi-task
- Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality
