Job Summary |
Job Summary: The Department of Pediatrics in the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Clinical Nurse Coordinator. The Nurse Coordinator works in conjunction with other team members in a team-based model of care, assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating care services to ensure safe and effective patient care. Additional activities include assisting with staff development/education specific to children with medical complexity, quality improvement activities, and performing other duties to facilitate care for patients. The Nurse Coordinator will work with highly skilled team members to provide high value patient care in an organization focused on patient safety, patient and parent satisfaction and positive patient outcomes. Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required: Nearly Continuously: Office environment. Often: Infectious disease, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids), hazards (includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals). Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing. Minimum Qualifications | Required Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah. Must maintain current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license if residency is not being changed to Utah. Two years general nursing experience. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). One year of directly related experience in an area of specialty is preferred. Some positions may require additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of hire. |
