  • Summary:

    This Clinical Nurse Educator will partner with the nursing leadership to educate, support, and inspire the licensed nurses and nursing assistants on a post-surgical, orthopedic/telemetry unit and a cardiac unit. Working within the Clinical Nurse Education Department, the Clinical Nurse Educator will be involved inboth unit level and organizational level opportunities that foster the body of nursing and the quality patient care. The position requires recent inpatient experience and desire to provide nursing education in real time at the patient's bedside.

    The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for the initial and ongoing education and competency assessment and evaluation process within the assigned units. The Nurse Educator assists Nursing Services and provides programs and training to enhance the development of technical, psychomotor, and critical thinking domains. The Nurse Educator will maintain clinical competency in order to best assess and assist the needs of the units assigned.

    Education and Experience

    ·        Minimum Required Education: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Education

    ·        Experience: 3+ years in an acute care nursing facility in a specialty clinical area

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Applicant must be licensed to work as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.
