Job Description
To provide maintenance services, managing the work order program of all maintenance activities and documentation of all related activities in order to ensure a positive environment coinciding with implementation of goals and guidelines as established by Old Dominion University and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Ability, knowledge and skill to perform preventive maintenance and repairs to electrical, mechanical/HVAC, plumbing components, sheetrock, painting, etc. located throughout the assigned properties. The knowledge and ability to properly use tools and equipment related to the above-mentioned trades. Working Knowledge of computers and programs used by the university relating to the position i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Special licenses, registration or certification
Valid Virginia drivers license and an insurable record.
Education or training
None
Level and type of experience
Significant years of experience in commercial property maintenance and multi-trade knowledge.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Journey or master license in the skilled trades area. Training in structural, electrical, HVAC and plumbing or equivalent work experience.
Conditions of Employment
Facilities Management employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during university closings.
