HOSA STATE ADVISOR
Health Careers Education

Supports the Health Careers Education Division by coordinating state- wide leadership activities, conferences, State Officer training, membership services and HOSA financial responsibilities.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a health-related area. Teaching or administrative experience in education or equivalent industry experience required.

Position provides specialized leadership and personal development training designed for middle school, secondary and post-secondary students: specialized teamwork training, and knowledge of HOSA and health-related careers.

Prefer teaching certificate and/or valid state or national healthcare credential. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations. Requires valid driver license. Frequent daytime travel, some overnight travel required.

Position based in Stillwater, OK.

Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Provide administration of the Oklahoma HOSA including leadership training for the HOSA State Officer Team, state and national conference planning and serving as the ambassador for Oklahoma HOSA.
  • Develop and implement a plan of work to involve more middle school, high school and post-secondary students in HOSA at the local, state and national levels.
  • Provide state and national HOSA updates and training to Biomedical and Health Careers Education instructors in the field.
  • Provide independent technical advice, consultation, and individualized assistance to local HOSA advisors, CTSO coordinators, and CTE administrators.
  • Coordinate communication between National HOSA, Oklahoma HOSA, and local HOSA advisors.
  • Prepare the budget and oversee the financial responsibilities and transactions for Oklahoma HOSA.
  • Develop business and industry partners that allow for longitudinal support of the Oklahoma HOSA organization at the state and national levels.
  • Manage Oklahoma HOSA digital media including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, HOSA Heartbeat, and HOSA website.
  • Serve as conference coordinator/facilitator for all HCE and HOSA conferences, meetings and trainings including contract negotiations, menu planning, registration coordination and event marketing.

Salary/Benefits: $51,985.95 - $58,421.34 commensurate with education or experience. Total salary and benefits package valued at $64,192.17 - $71,111.95.
