POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Customer & Sales Representative works closely with the UH Meds Administrative Director of Business Development and the Specialty Pharmacy Manager to market and present UH Pharmacy Ventures (Infusion and Specialty pharmacy services) capabilities to various internal and external customers that can help grow Pharmacy business opportunities and pharmacy revenues.

The Pharmacy Customer & Sales Representative is expected to develop and execute a territory sales plan, develop sales targets, close sales, coordinate sales efforts with strategic manufacturing and distribution partners, and support the needs of the system customers. This role will call on various providers focused on generating new referrals and generating new patient business. The

Pharmacy Customer & Sales Representative will participate in system sales planning, meetings and reporting as it relates to pharmacy infusion, specialty medications, and therapy management. The Pharmacy Customer & Sales Representative must demonstrate accurate and timely follow-up discussions during scheduled meetings. The Pharmacy Customer & Sales Representative must be able to recognize the trends in the pharmaceutical industry and incorporate into sales duties.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieves or exceeds sales objectives through education, ethical promotion of services among physicians and other healthcare providers in territory.
  • Develops and fosters long-term relationships with key providers, decision makers, and total account call customers. Able to effectively communicate features and benefits to individuals or large groups.
  • Serves as an expert and provides a high level of expertise and customer service for all assigned accounts.
  • Maintains current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers.
  • Responsible to attend all remote learning activities and conference calls, willingness to learn and enhance the groups learning experience, including being present for the entire training on time and for the full length of the training.
  • Utilizes systems and reports to enhance impact of sales call and territory management. Appropriately uses this information to develop account business plans which address the needs of their geographies.
  • Develops plans of action that meet the individual needs of their customers. Maintains a current routing target list, submits regular updates to the Home Care Leadership and plans calls to meet frequency targets. Possess broad healthcare and industry market knowledge and business acumen.
  • Continuously improves selling skills, including product and competitor knowledge. Carries out in a legally compliant manner all sales and marketing programs including occasional evening and weekend events, when approved.
  • Serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for customers in a defined area to support and grow key customer relationships
  • Create a Customer Improvement focus; provide customers with unique, critical perspective on improving their business by laying out a vision for improvement that positively reflects UH Meds.

 

TERRITORY MANAGEMENT

  • Build/maintain a territory that meets the business requirements of the Pharmacy organization and system performance indicators and sales quotas.
  • Meets and exceeds each and every performance indicators established including but not limited to requested field rides, development of quarterly business plans, SWOT analysis, weekly sales activity reports, attendance with established meeting cadence.
  • Maintain accurate and updated customer information, sales visit summaries, pharma relations activities, etc.
  • Manage portfolio of current marketing collaterals, and meet average call per day volume demonstrating sale and territory growth as per established sales quotas.

 

SPECIALTY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Respond to requests within established timelines with information and engagement requests.
  • Must possess current knowledge of referral forms, specialty process, products, services, and criteria impacting benefits investigations and communication with prescriber and pharma accounts. Keeps up to date with current knowledge of all network services
  • Daily contact with direct supervisor to receive latest updates regarding pressing matters, and appropriate use of value added interactions as required
  • Expected to be able to match medications to their disease states, followed by gaining working knowledge of manufacturers and their sponsored support programs at the established intervals
  • Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the business.
  • Effectively collaborate cross-functionally within the sales team and throughout the pharmacy and Home
  • Care teams to provide seamless onboarding of prescriber accounts; incorporate best practices and procedures; advise and restructure resources as needed to support sales growth.
  • Manages inbound and outbound e-mail, phone calls and faxes for customer service support and follow up, triaging to UH Meds staff as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Pharmacy Operations process, life of a prescription at UH Meds and the Patient Journey. Understand and support internal processing functions and personnel.
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, vision and core values by training and providing direction to others in their use and application.
  • Works closely with quality assurance / compliance team to ensure that all processes are aligned and adhered to appropriate guidelines; communicates updates to constituents accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Two to Five years of professional business to business sales or customer service experience.
  • Pharmacy or related industry experience preferred. Knowledge of the pharmacy, pharmaceutical, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions, as well as exercise judgment and discretion in daily and administrative tasks.
  • Understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality and represent UH in the utmost professional manner to new pharmacy partners.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record

  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must be dependable and able to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Should be organized and able to prioritize and manage time effectively to prioritize duties and responsibilities.
