SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Education & Training Programs, the Educator, Supervision & Leadership, provides staff development as an educator, consultant, facilitator and change agent across the organization. You will partner with people-leaders and learners to develop and implement programming that guides leaders in effectively navigating critical administrative and interpersonal responsibilities within their teams. You will assess the effectiveness of this training through ongoing program and learner evaluations, and will establish a roadmap for the development of person-centered, adaptive, and innovative leaders within the organization. 

HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED:

  • Conducts thorough and continuous supervisory and leadership training needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools to identify opportunities for educational development of staff.
  • Creates outstanding training materials; updates and maintains accuracy of training materials as processes or business needs change.
  • Develops and facilitates role-specific training for all levels of people leaders within Signature Health, including but not limited to: situational leadership theory; diversity, equity, and inclusion principles; emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate Crucial Conversations; interview best practices; performance assessment and review; ethical decision-making for leaders; staff coaching; and employee engagement. 
  • Administers training program for internal staff interested in developing leadership skills.
  • Provides ongoing coaching and implementation role around advanced learning topics.
  • Responds promptly to organizational training needs that promote quality patient care and safety.
  • Consults with key leaders and staff regarding individual or team learning needs.
  • Adheres to the Education & Training departmental content review process to maintain alignment between training development requests and organizational objectives.
  • Plans, maintains and evaluates training materials for use in education programs with focus on accuracy and alignment of departmental content and branding guidelines.
  • Focuses on continuous quality improvement through gathering and maintaining course evaluation data and establishing channels for feedback.
  • Establishes a cadence of post-learning checkpoints to support evaluation of training and application of practices/learning content.
  • Incorporates principles of adult learning into the planning, implementation and evaluation of education programs.
  • Ensures that educational programs are congruent with organizational missions, values, and goals.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders across Signature Health to recommend educational strategies for the implementation of clinical standards and content.
  • Serves as an educational consultant to task forces, quality improvement committees and projects relating to policy, procedure and program development.
  • Applies individual awareness and sensitivity to cultural diversity to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
  • Travels to various Signature Health locations to facilitate training activities.
  • Promotes self-development in training expertise and maintains functional knowledge base as a subject matter expert.
  • Maintains and updates professional knowledge and skills through formal and informal educational experiences to ensure best evidenced based practice.
  • Complies with state continuing education requirement, if applicable, as determined by individual licensure.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain all aspects of HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and right to privacy.
  • Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health. 
  • Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
  • Demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality in adherence with Signature Health policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years’ management or leadership experience in a role that involves hiring, retention, team-building, and implementation of DEI principles preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in training and content development required.
  • Prior Leadership role in healthcare preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • Core understanding and belief in leadership methods that begin with “People-First” approaches. 
  • Completion of Situational Leadership Facilitator training or related program preferred. 
  • Strong proficiency in common features of Windows 10/MS Office/Office 365 with focus on Outlook, Word, and Teams required. 
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to structure and present technical information in a logical sequence using clear, understandable terminology and examples.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
  • While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
  • Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work. 
  • Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
  • Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
  • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
  • Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
