The Bureau, Marshall, Putnam County Health Departments, is hiring numerous Contact Tracer Supervisor to support Illinois Public Health's efforts in performing COVID-19 contact tracing.

Position Summary

BMPCHD is organizing teams of community contact tracing staff across our Tri-County, as a key strategy for preventing further spread of COVID-19.

The Contact Tracer Supervisor will supervise a team of six to nine Contact Tracers who are working with COVID-19 patients to help them recall everyone with whom they have had close contact during the time-frame while they may have been infectious, then contact the individuals to let them know of their potential exposure, and connecting contacts with various services (including social support structures, testing, clinical care, etc.). The Contact Tracer Supervisor will track progress against target goals and provide supervision and mentorship to staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise a team of between seven to ten people that collectively performs all functions of the COVID-19 Community Team response. Coordinate the team's schedules and provide supervision and troubleshooting. Resolve issues and brainstorm and implement solutions. Call patients who have been newly diagnosed with COVID-19 to provide support and gather information. Help patients recall everyone with whom they have had close contact during the timeframe while they may have been infectious. Call the contacts to discuss their potential exposure. Communicate with contacts in a professional and empathetic manner. Collect and record information on symptoms into a Client Resource Management platform CRM. Provide contacts with information about how to separate themselves from others who are not exposed, how to monitor themselves for illness, and if appropriate, refer them to testing according to procedures or to a Resource Coordinator for additional resources. Track daily and weekly progress for the team against target goals including cases contacted successfully, contacts tracked and referred, and patients and contacts referred to social support systems. Perform quality assurance through listening in on calls or to recordings of calls and providing feedback to team. Liaise with partners and stakeholders at the Bureau, Marshall, Putnam County Health Departments and IDPH. Call each person under active monitoring daily for 14 days to check that there is no onset of symptoms. Maintain contact with supervisor. Conduct other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related professional experience. 3 years of related professional experience (in addition to the educational requirements). Experience supervising staff. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress. Ability to communicate verbally in a professional and empathetic manner. Good project management skills and ability to track progress of a team. Excellent organizational skills. Good critical thinking skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Proficiency with computer software and ability to learn how to use CRM platform. Work experience and/or lived experience with communities experiencing/at risk of disproportionate COVID-19 impact. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Familiarity with our Tri-County geography.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in clinical medicine and/or public health a plus. Fluency in a second or in multiple languages a plus (specifically Spanish). Please indicate languages spoken in your application and/or cover letter. Prior experience in contact tracing. Preference will be given to residents of Bureau, Marshall, and Putnam County.

Important Information

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. This is a remote position based in Bureau, Marshall, and Putnam County.
