The Senior Product Manager will be a hands-on product leader in our new Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) organization. The DTC team has a start-up mindset – nimble, clever, fast and creative – with the support of the larger EBSCO organization.  The ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunity to launch and grow new businesses, with visibility to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional at defining products, driving concepts from planning to implementation and calmly adjusting course for product market fit and growth.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Understand our products’ evolving strategic and competitive positions
  • Deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviors and transform that knowledge into a cohesive roadmap of features that align to growth goals
  • Develop business requirements, financial models and functional details for new features or enhancements
  • Hands-on manage products throughout their lifecycle, from planning to launch, including collaborating directly with design, engineering, analytics, and user research teams
  • Make decisions based on quantitative, qualitative, and competitive data.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators to monitor proactively the health of the business
  • Define, monitor, and analyze key conversion metrics to support continual optimization of the product(s)
  • Communicate the state of projects across teams, stakeholders as well as executives.

 

What We Seek:

The ideal candidate sits comfortably at the intersection between business, technology and user experience, with direct experience in at least one and deep fluency with practitioners in all. In addition, they will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • 6+ years of DTC/B2C Internet product management experience
  • Demonstrated track record of building consumer products that users love and drive high-impact results
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills but be able to work independently
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with varied responsibilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects at a time
  • Passion for making decisions quickly to seize opportunities that lead to team success
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills; willingness to get into the details and drive clarity from ambiguity
  • Ability to integrate quantitative and qualitative user research at all stages of product development 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of an organization
  • Experience managing relationships with external agencies
  • Experience operating in matrixed organizations
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe Agile product development
  • Experience operating in matrixed organizations
  • Experience in EdTech or ecommerce a plus
