During this time where Department of Public Health - Seattle & King County is in the center of COVID response engagement, the best fit accountant for this position will be proficient and able to quickly learn and provide the necessary support to the Accounts Payable and General ledger unit. The job requires performing a variety of accounts payable and general ledger accounting functions. These may include but not limited to maintaining ledgers, preparing and posting various entries to the general ledger, preparing reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, reviewing initial entries, processing several accounting entries, providing information for the budgeting process, preparing year-end accruals and interacting with customers and vendors to resolve and provide technical support. The position may also have an oversight and coordination role over P-card purchases, gift cards, fixed assets as well as small funds. This short term position requires ability to quickly learn several computer programs and government accounting practices mostly in a virtual setting.
This position will last for 6 months, with a possiblity of extension.

Work Location: Downtown Seattle, Chinook Building, 401 5th Avenue, Suite 1200, Seattle, WA, 98104.
Work Schedule: The normal work week is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Remote working may be an option. This position is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.
