Maintains patient safety by direct supervision, reorienting and redirecting confused patient, following safety standards (i.e. hand hygiene, isolation precautions, fall prevention, suicide precautions) and keeping the environment hazard free. Communicates with nurse any changes in patient behavior or condition. Communicates effectively with patient and family. Assists patient with basic hygiene, comfort, meal set up, etc. Operates bed controls, TV, call light system, and bed/chair alarms. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic. Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.
