As a Controls Field Service Technician you will service, install and upgrade various control systems for the wood processing industry at customer sites. Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of service calls and regular site visits to ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
Respond to and communicate effectively with customers, engineers and project managers to ensure customer requirements are understood and resolved.
Required to provide 7/24hr remote customer support coverage on rotation. Works irregular hours and overtime as required.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have a diploma, degree or trade qualification in the electrical field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with programming Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, RSLogix PLC products
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) (preferred but not required)
Basic understanding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
Experience with Servo motors
Experience with Delta RMC and/or Allen-Bradley motion control
Ability to read electrical drawings/prints
Electrical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of the wood processing industry (preferred but not required)
Ability to work effectively with customers
Able to cross international borders and travel extensively to mill locations in North America and overseas
