The Morgridge Institute for Research, in partnership with the Department of Biostatistics & Medical Informatics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, seek outstanding early- to mid-career scientists to lead vibrant computational/systems biology research programs. We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary and collaborative-minded scientists passionate about pursuing data-science strategies such as: using bioinformatics, machine learning, or statistical methods to define functions for poorly understood proteins and processes; developing innovative computational methods for the integration, analysis, and modeling of diverse high-throughput "big data"; and blending computational and experimental approaches to understand biological networks and how essential biological processes are linked to the cellular homeostasis. We place special emphasis on applications of these data science techniques to challenges in metabolism.

The Morgridge Institute-a premier private, nonprofit research institute affiliated with UW-Madison-serves as a central campus hub for investigators affiliated with multiple university departments to work collaboratively on fundamental biomedical questions, and as such offers an extraordinary interdisciplinary work environment. This recruitment is part of the Institute's Metabolism Theme and the larger, campus-wide Metabolism Initiative that aims to enhance the pace, productivity, and international profile of metabolism-related research in Madison. The metabolism community in Madison includes hundreds of scientists spanning diverse areas of organismal biology, biochemistry, genetics, nutritional sciences, and medicine, and is home to world-class capabilities in computational biology, biostatistics, proteomics, and metabolomics.

Candidates must have a proven track record of high-quality research related to computational biology, have outstanding communication skills, and embrace a collaborative and interdisciplinary research culture. Candidates with experience in metabolic research are preferred.

The Morgridge Institute for Research promotes and supports a diverse and inclusive environment.
