General Description
Assume the responsibilities for the instruction of our English as a Second Language classes at employer locations. Off-campus work within and around Union County is required. English As a Second Language course content to be customized to meet needs. Instructor will:

• Focus on the vocabulary specific to the industry and company for trainees
• Emphasize particular areas such as speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar
• Develop lessons and adjust the level to accommodate the needs of the students in the class

Participants will learn to recognize basic words, numbers, alphabet, introductions, personal information, dates, addresses, industry-specific vocabulary, and vocabulary for everyday life and/or workplace.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Responsible for classroom instruction.
• Maintain daily attendance and course paperwork as needed.
• Other related duties.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in related field required or an equivalent combination of education, industry certification and/or experience to demonstrate core competencies.
TESOL Certified
• 3 – 5 years relevant instructional experience.

• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Flexibility of schedule.
• Working with a diverse population.
• May need to administer BEST tests at the start and end of training program.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Some travel required.
