Offshore Sailing School, Americas #1 Sailing School®, is seeking qualified instructors with excellent sailing experience, knowledge, and people skills to teach at our four Southwest Florida locations. Instruction is aboard Colgate 26 sailboats, and 43’ to 47’ monohulls, and 48' sailing and power catamarans. If you love to teach sailing and want to work in a rewarding environment, this job is for you.   

Candidates should have:

An absolute passion for sailing and powerboating
Ability to conduct classroom sessions with use of Smart Board and other tools, in addition to on-water instruction
Solid cruising and racing experience on mid-sized or larger keelboats and cruising/racing yachts
US Sailing Instructor Certification at the Basic Keelboat level, or have equivalent skills and willingness to obtain this certification, and US Sailing Instructor Bareboat Cruising certification, or equivalent skills and willingness to gain that instructor certification level 
A US Coast Guard license or have enough sea time required to obtain a USCG license quickly
Excellent teaching and communication skills, exhibiting humility and patience when working with students with different learning styles, ages, experience levels
Experience teaching sailing to adults and families on keelboats and cruising yachts
Knowledge of basic boat maintenance and repairs
The desire to work as part of a team, with pride in your position as a sailing instructor at Offshore Sailing School
An Offshore Sailing School sailing instructor's typical week includes:

First teaching 2 or 3-day Learn to Sail Courses on weekends and/or during week Monday through Wednesday
During non-teaching time, conducting two-hour sailing lessons and/or participate in boat maintenance
Teaching Cruising Courses that result in students achieving US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification on Monday through Friday in a Live Aboard or stay-ashore format
Teaching Power Cruising Courses that result in students achieving US Powerboating Certification Monday through Friday
Participating in weekly meetings with Branch Manager and Chief Operations Manager, and other management as needed
Administering and processing client certification tests and reports with HQ sales and operations staff
Instructors are salaried on an annual basis, paid bi-monthly. The Company offers medical insurance for the individual instructor, and paid time off. Part-time positions are also available without paid vacation and medical insurance.
