Job Summary
MonarchTeach is a unique collaboration between the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies and the College of Sciences at Old Dominion University. Through this innovative teacher preparation program, students majoring in mathematics or science are able to receive teacher licensure while earning the degree in their content area. This position will be an integral part of the MonarchTeach program for teacher education in the STEM disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in mathematics education, science education, technology education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and planning.
  • Excellent attention to detail. Experience in curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated excellence in collaborating with other educators.
  • Demonstrated excellence in utilizing and teaching usage of instructional technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A current professional teaching license (or ability to apply for one).
  • Considerable secondary school experience in a science, mathematics, or technology education classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a physics, chemistry, technology education, or mathematics classroom; experience working with student teachers, UTeach students and/or programs, and working with pre-service teachers.
