| Job Summary: | Greet patients and visitors assuring positive customer service. Complete registration process to ensure that all required information is collected and updated. Check out patients, schedule future appointments and collect patient co-pays. Answer phones, prioritize incoming mail, faxes and correspondence. Identify/prioritize scanning for patient record. Obtains insurance authorizations, additional records, referrals, and manages denial processes. Work with/advise patients on insurance carrier requirements including non covered and obtains the necessary documentation. Processes billing, runs reports, compiles data, presents at staff meetings and assists in QI activities. Use of computer systems such as EPIC, Word and Outlook. Attends education events. Takes on other tasks as defined and requested by leadership. Accepts reassignment to other areas as needed. |

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Associate's degree and two years relevant patient financial/insurance services experience in a healthcare related setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Working knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with medical coding and excellent written/oral communication skills required. Computer skills and keyboarding are necessary. Ability to maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, co-workers and outside facilities. |
