POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, this role will be integral in the system wide execution of the annual budget and strategic planning process. The position will interact with functional department leads across the system to facilitate timely budget and strategic financial planning, as well as monthly reporting of process improvement initiatives.

Performance Criteria: Budget Financial Analyst

• Assist with the management and execution the annual budget process throughout the system, including providing support to our colleagues.
• Assist with the strategic financial plan including data input and analysis, working with System Office resources, etc.
• Assist with obtaining information for mid-month forecasting for the system, including submission to System Office.
• Assist with the operational excellence initiatives including data input and analysis, working with local and System Office resources, etc.
• Assist with management reporting functionality and variance analysis throughout the system.
• Assist with operational metrics including, but not limited to, productivity, budgeted FTEs, and various other financial and operational metrics.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, motivational and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong management and administrative skills.
• Ability to function in a matrix organization and have the flexibility and time management skills to complete projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
• Broad-based knowledge of healthcare and hospital related regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience in expense and capital budget development and control.
• Mastery of MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word is necessary.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, KH Axiom is preferred but not required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required. Minimum of one to three years healthcare or financial analysis experience preferred.

Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Strong personal computer skills required, including advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, vlookups, etc). Ability to work with all levels of staff and across multiple departments. Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
