Team Lead Therapy Services PM&R-Occupational Therapy I/P

Location: MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 1 weekend/month, 2 holidays/yr

Summary: 

Coordinates the activity of assigned personnel and resources within an assigned area of the department as appropriate to optimize department services. Assumes responsibility for ensuring appropriate daily functions of therapy in assigned area. Evaluates and treats patients within scope of licensure and duties as an occupational therapist, physical therapist, or speech therapist as licensed. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 


Qualifications:

Required: Possesses one of the following: • Bachelor’s Degree, degree in Physical Therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and holds a Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Ohio; or • Bachelor’s Degree, in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and holds an Occupational Therapist licensure in the State of Ohio; or • Master’s Degree in speech pathology and a valid State of Ohio Speech-Language Pathology Licensure and must be certified as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Possesses current BLS certification or obtains within 90 days of hire. Professional clinical experience as a licensed Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapist. Possesses and maintains National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification if an Occupational Therapist Excellent interpersonal skills along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups. Demonstrated knowledge of PC skills, database management, and concepts and systems of program evaluation. Ability to travel to satellite locations. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Master’s Degree or post-graduate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy Speech Therapy and/or Health Care Administration. Membership in a national physical, occupational, or speech therapy organization. Supervisory experience. Physical Requirements: • Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load to support patient from falling during any type of functional training. • Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm or leg during exercise program • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient’s pulse • Visual acuity to observe patient’s gross movement, gait, etc., in order to analyze biomechanical problems • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. • May need to sit or stand for extended periods • Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read • Ability to hear or understand patient’s description of symptoms and response to treatment Frequently (25-75% of the time) performed tasks Standing, sitting with and without back support, walking, reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, and low), crouching, balancing, lifting 5to 25 pounds, carrying 5 to10 pounds, and pushing up to 75 pounds Occasionally (5-25% of the time) performed tasks Stooping, climbing, lifting or moving 24 to 100 pounds, carrying 10 to 25 pounds, and operating power tools and machinery
