Director of Music Education 

Sweet Adelines International has an exceptional opportunity for a Director of Music Education, at our Tulsa based non-profit. This position is responsible for directing the activities of the Education Department. In conjunction with the Education Direction Committee (EDC), planning committees and other volunteers, implements the organization's educational programs including annual face-to-face seminars, classes at International convention as well as the Members Only Online Education Center. Develops and promotes relationships with professional affiliates. Promotes and oversees the administration of the Young Women in Harmony (YWIH) program, including festivals and youth outreach. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team. 

Responsibilities: Develops and promotes relationships between Sweet Adelines International and other professional music associations such as NAfME and ACDA. Serves as staff contact for regional Young Women in Harmony Coordinators. Participates in planning meetings of all educational events. In consultation with event chairs and other volunteers, develops curriculum, faculty assignments, and schedules. Prepares lesson plans, writes class objectives and descriptions as needed or assigned. Reviews scripts prepared by volunteers and assists with script development, as appropriate. Researches, reviews and recommends external/internal presenters and educational resources, including online or distance learning applications. Coordinates youth outreach to educational institutions. Develops presentations for educational events, as assigned. 

Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Music (Choral or Vocal Performance) preferred. Strong supervisory, budgeting, curriculum building and teaching skills. Excellent leadership and customer service skills. Ability to travel as needed.
