The Finance Department’s main goal is to provide the City Council, Manager, departments,
and boards and commissions accurate, meaningful and timely financial data to be used
in creating sound fiscal policy and providing full disclosure. The department establishes
and maintains internal controls to protect City’s assets from loss and ensure accounting
data compiled for financial statements are prepared in conformity with generally accepted
accounting principles, and has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
in Financial Reporting for 28 consecutive years. Join the City of Dubuque Budget and
Finance team as part of a high-performance, data-driven organization built on the four
pillars of resiliency, sustainability, equity and compassion. We are seeking two full time
Budget/Financial Accounting Analysts to examine budget estimates; analyze budgeting
and accounting reports; perform budgeting, performance measurement and lead analyst
duties; and provide complex technical assistance to across the organization. A Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, Financial Mathematics or a
related field; or any combination of related experience and training equivalent to fouryear
degree is required.
