Beaufort/Hyde Partnership for Children seeks a full time Executive Director

Responsibilities:

  • Organize processes required to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the Partnership’s initiatives
  • Establish organizational plans, policies and procedures as necessary for effective operations, including the Partnership’s Strategic Plan
  • Hire, manage and direct the activities of the Partnership staff, establishing work plans and monitoring progress
  • Perform formal performance appraisals and conduct feedback sessions with the Partnership staff
  • Work cooperatively with the Partnership Board to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Manage financial resources, including preparing operational budgets and accounting for all funds and property; maintain official records according to the guidelines established by the Partnership Board, State Partnership and other funding sources
  • Plan and oversee an aggressive campaign of public education and awareness of the Partnership’s goals, mission, and vision statement, as well as the efforts of the Smart Start Program
  • Develop and cultivate broad-based cooperative relationships among governments and their staff, human service agencies, churches, individuals, and other non-governmental organizations in coordinating, funding, and implementing childhood services in pursuit of the Partnership’s Vision
  • Keep local government and human service councils and the community informed of the Partnership’s activities and accomplishments
  • Develop collaborative relationships with private companies and foundations in the region to build private sector support for the Partnership’s goals and activities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local and State elected officials to ensure their knowledge of and support for the Partnership’s activities and achievements
  • Ensure all necessary federal and state documents are completed and filed timely and appropriately
  • Develop, support and implement fundraising activities
  • Prepare activity reports for the Partnership Board
  • Identify funding sources and write grant proposals to fund Partnership initiatives
  • Establish ongoing communication between and among all Board Members to ensure adequate flow of information and ideas
  • Develop and manage the process for unsolicited proposals from the community
  • Cultivate diversity through community outreach and participation in the Partnership’s programs and initiatives
  • Serve as advocate for early childhood initiatives and the training of the professionals who work with them
  • Interact with providers at all child care centers and homes and their personnel to ascertain the needs of the community
  • Serve as the contact person for all media and public inquiries regarding the Beaufort/Hyde Partnership for Children
  • Participate in regional and statewide collaboration efforts with other Smart Start agencies
  • Provide administrative support to the Partnership Board, (i.e., meeting agendas, minutes, announcements, and correspondences)
  • Perform all other duties of the Partnership as directed by the Board.
