Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator

Morningside University is looking to fill the position of Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator. This position provides support to marketing, admissions, career services, alumni engagement, and other University initiatives. This individual will plan, schedule, and manage social media content; assist alumni relations with marketing events and creating email marketing content; supply written content for admissions and other marketing materials; assist with content for the University’s alumni magazine and news site; develop website content; serve as the primary editor for the department; and assist with generating photo and video content.

Responsibilities: Social Media Help plan, schedule, and manage social media on the University’s primary platforms, as well as Career Services & Alumni Relations. Curate photo, video, and other content to populate social media platforms. Work with intern pool to develop intern-generated social media content. Provide support to departments and programs who request assistance with social media requests as needed. Writing & Editing Develop content for admissions marketing materials such as postcards, the viewbook, emails, etc. Write stories for the University’s alumni magazine and the news site. Assist with developing content for Morningside websites and updating content. Supply writing for other marketing and communication projects. Assist with developing email communication, pieces for events, the Alumni Showcase, and other alumni-related communications. Serve as the primary editor for University Engagement, ensuring that all written content is the best quality possible. Photo and Video Content Take photos and collect videos to be used within University Engagement. Provide management for photo and video shoots as needed. Ensure photos and videos are stored, organized, and available for use Administrative Responsibilities. Provide outstanding service and maintain strong working relationships. Participate as an active member of the University Engagement team. Ensure excellence in all things marketing and communication at Morningside University.

Qualifications: Exceptional writing and editing skills demonstrated through experience with a variety of print and digital media. Experience managing social platforms for a business, nonprofit, or other brand. Technologically savvy, experience with content management systems, photo management, photography, video capture, video editing, and other common technology. Ability to work at a quick pace under pressure in order to meet deadlines. Excellent oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills; strong organizational skills. Bachelor’s degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing, or related field. At least one year of related work experience.
