Job Summary

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is looking for two graduate student research assistants. These RAs will work closely with the Assistant Vice Chancellor of DEI and other Office of DEI staff to further systemwide efforts to cultivate diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments that allow all members of the State System community to thrive. This job provides students a unique opportunity to engage in work that supports systemwide efforts to develop, implement, and evaluate outcomes-based strategies that address inequities across PASSHE.

This is a virtual, 10-20 hour per week position that is open to any graduate student.  The pay is $20 per hour.

Job Tasks 

  • Review literature related to existing and prospective system-wide projects and initiatives such as the DEI Summit, Frederick Douglass Institutes, networked improvement communities, or employee resource groups
  • Generate memos about reviewed literature based on related inquiry questions
  • Compile and organize information and data related to existing system-wide projects and initiatives in digital formats (e.g., spreadsheets, SharePoint sites)
  • Brainstorm and contribute to creation of social media content related to Office of DEI projects
  • Participate in bi-weekly Office of DEI meetings

Minimum Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

  • Student who is currently enrolled in a graduate program
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment including regular communication with Office of DEI staff through email and periodic Zoom meetings about your progress on projects
  • Interest and/or experience with programs and events that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Interest and/or experience with research related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in writing and other forms of communication
