Job Summary | We are seeking a dynamic and humanities-focused individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Academic Outreach for the Tanner Humanities Center (THC). The assistant director will report to the faculty Director and will be responsible for development, implementation, and assessment of academic projects, initiatives, and programs, including the fellowship program. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in expanding our academic partnerships, fostering relationships with educational institutions, and promoting the mission and programs of our organization. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and writing skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for the humanities. The AD will work collaboratively with the marketing and communication team, the Tanner Lecture on Human Values team, College of Humanities dean’s team, development team, grant team, and department chairs. The goal of the THC is to sponsor and promote humanities scholarship and to advocate for the value of humanities research to audiences broadly. The THC is the largest Humanities Center in the Intermountain West, known internationally for lecture series featuring global thinkers and leaders. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, English, History or humanities related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, English, History or humanities related area preferred. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
