Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Opioid Treatment (OTP) program at Behavioral Health Network! 

 

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Additionally, BHN is a Tobacco Free workplace. All Staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors agree not to smell of or use Tobacco or ENDS products while on paid work time or within sight of any BHN facility.

 

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the OTP program with the following:

  • Using biophysical and psychosocial knowledge to complete thorough assessments of individuals in substance use recovery.
  • Recognizing the unique needs of dually diagnosed individuals and special populations.
  • Making medical assessments, as needed.
  • Providing care with kindness and sensitivity, preserving individuals’ autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Preparing, administering, and accounting for medication accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining appropriate records related to individual’s medication administration, progress, and activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by state, federal, and DEA guidelines.
  • Overseeing urine collection and processing, reading test results, and completing related forms involved in these procedures.

 

Who are we?

BHN/OTP is a Medication Assisted Treatment Program to assist individuals who are addicted to opiates and are experiencing their dysfunctional effects to gain and maintain the skills needed to achieve an opiate-free lifestyle. The OTP program uses evidence-based medication protocols approved by the Medical Director to ensure patients safely detox from these substances. These protocols are implemented through assessment and re-assessment practices throughout the process.

What are we looking for in a Licensed Practical Nurse?

  • Current Nursing License by the Massachusetts Board of Registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse (required).
  • At least one year of nursing experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in applying the nursing process to individuals served and their families.
  • Ability to collaborate with other care givers.
  • Ability to delegate to peers and other care givers consistent with their level of expertise.
  • Knowledge of utilization and review standards and implementation.
  • Ability to advocate for individuals served.
  • Ability to understand, empathize and work with an addicted population, including those with co-occurring disorders.
  • Working knowledge of ethics and legal parameters of working with substance abuse individuals.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance standards and CARF standards.
