POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Fitness Instructor, you will need to provide five-star fitness service to all guests. Assist guests and members in the weight room. Teach a variety of fitness activities that include, but are not limited to, Water Aerobics, Cardio Interval, Body Sculpting, Pilates and Stretch classes, leading fitness activities for groups, keeping workout area stocked, and cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Customer service-overseeing workout area.
• Fitness Activities Fitness menu of services Stocking and cleaning of fitness areas.
• Personnel attention is to be given to all guests and members who visit the fitness department.
• Motivate and educate guests who participate in our fitness activities.
• Begin and end classes and training sessions on time.
• The workout area is to be covered at all times.
• Excellent communication skills and relationship-building with the Wisteria staff.
• Ability to balance multiple competing priorities
• Informs other Associates of special occasions of guests – such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. – to ensure we are creating “Real Life Magic” for our guests in every special circumstance.
• Answers the phone in a kind and cordial manner while performing informational calls.
• Knowledge of equipment and different classes available.
• Other job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Certification through NASM, A.C.E., ACSM, or AFAA is preferred.
• CPR should be up-to-date.
• The ability to teach at various fitness levels, from beginner to advanced.
• Must be a team player.
• Willingness to learn and be certified in other fitness programs
• Ability to teach up to three classes per day.
• Demonstrate a wide range of exercises for the lower and upper body.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time.

• Must be able to speak the English language fluently.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
• Must be able to handle high-pressure situations.
• Customer service experience preferred; fitness experience a plus.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts – including holidays, weekends, evenings, etc.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks.
• Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers.
• A strong understanding of the hospitality industry is helpful.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest service role.
