Sandy Early Childhood Coordinator

REPORTS TO:                       Regional Family Programs & Resource Manager

PAY RATE:                           $40,000 to $45,000 DEO

EMPLOYMENT LENGTH:        1 FTE, annual contract

This position is responsible for the development and facilitation of early childhood programs and family engagement in the Sandy area, mainly housed at Sandy Grade School. Flexible hours, some evenings.

General Accountabilities

• Plans, develops and administers programs which promotes social, physical and intellectual growth for early childhood programs.
• Sets program goals and objectives.
• Teaches children according to approved instructional programs at a rate and level commensurate with expected progress of each child.
• Keeps appropriate records.
• Maintains records and documentation and monthly/quarterly reports.
• Plans and coordinates family engagement activities, parent education and parent involvement activities.
• Runs summer activities, playgroups, and kindergarten transition programs.
• Works with Parent Education Coordinator to provide workshops and parent series in Sandy.
• Works with Family Resource Coordinator to provide support to families.

Required Knowledge and skills

Experience working in early childhood or related field; or a combination of experience and schooling. Early Childhood education certificate a plus or associates is a plus.
