General Description
The ExCEL Grant Coordinator for Experiential Learning, under the direction of the Title V Project Director and in collaboration with grant instructors, will coordinate experiential learning opportunities (ELOs) for Title V students enrolled in the Education, Business, and Graphic Design (
EBGD
) programs. By strengthening the College’s relationships with outside employers and community organizations, the Coordinator will facilitate grant student cohort placement in internships and fieldwork. In addition, the Coordinator will support instructors in the development of ELOs using industry-specific technological tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator, oversee the grant resources, and train and supervise the ExCEL Leaders in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Develop, expand, and facilitate placement in work-based learning experiences including, but not limited to, internships and fieldwork for
EBGD
students. 
• Strengthen and maintain the College’s relationship with outside employers and community organizations in the
EBGD
fields.
• Lead implementation of Handshake and VMock career tools. 
• Maintain Handshake and VMock platforms. 
• Coordinate training workshops for faculty and students on the use of the industry-specific technological tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator. 
• Collaborate with
EBGD
instructors to develop on-campus, industry-specific ELOs that may include relevant technological tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator. 
• Engage students in the use of industry-specific technological tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator.
• Conduct annual assessment of relevant industry-specific technological tools for the
EBGD
programs. Recommend updates to tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator based on data-informed decision-making.
• Assist the Title V ExCEL Project Director with hiring, training, and supervising the student ExCEL Leaders in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator.
• Maintain grant equipment inventory for the Innovation Center and Education Incubator. 
• Provide weekly grant usage reports for the Innovation Center and Education Incubator.
• Promote ELOs through informational sessions, Canvas, social media, class visits, etc.
• Collect data and assess results of experiential learning on student learning outcomes. Recommend modifications to existing services based on data-informed decision-making.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Title V ExCEL Project Director, as required.  
• Research and inform project staff/faculty on best practices in experiential learning for student success.
• Share grant updates and available resources for including ELOs in the classroom and in other areas of the college with the Experiential Education Advisory Committee.
• Collaborate with the ExCEL staff, ExCEL faculty, and ExCEL Program Advisory Team on student success and retention initiatives.
• Opportunity to teach the ExCEL section of the
UCC
101: College Success course.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required with related experience. 
Experience
• Title V Grant,
EOF
, or related cohort-based program experience working directly with students.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)  
• Experience working in experiential and service-learning programs.
• Knowledge of industry-specific technological tools for
EBGD
programs.
• Proven record of building partnerships with employers and agencies. 
• Experience with student learning outcomes assessment.
Competencies and Skills Required
• Commitment to the goal of improving student success for Hispanics/Latinx students. 
• Proven ability to manage grant timelines and meet project objectives and goals. 
• Problem-solving skills and data analysis experience.  
• Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills.  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. 
• Knowledge of career development tools such as Handshake.
• Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, Business Objects, Canvas, and project management tools.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Some travel required.
