Summary

King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has (2) openings for an Engineer II or Engineer III depending on candidate qualifications.

Job Duties

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience in the field of engineering, design, and CAD.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering methods and principals.
  • Experience in detailed mechanical design particularly piping and fluid conveyance systems.
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk REVIT, AutoCAD, or similar design software used in industrial facilities or utilities projects.
  • Working knowledge of industrial operations and system processes.
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify process/equipment issues and provide suitable alternatives to address.
Engineer II - With direction and guidance by senior staff:
  • Develop mechanical designs using established WTD standards.
  • Support Capital Project teams by providing accurate records drawings, equipment asset data and other technical information.
  • Conduct field surveys to develop and verify Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, gather dimensional data for designs, verify asset information, and redline record drawings for changes resulting from construction.
  • As an Editor, develop, maintain, and archive engineering documentation in the Engineering Content Management System (ECMS) using current WTD standards.
Engineer III - Independently, using advanced engineering techniques and principals:
  • Develop mechanical designs using established WTD standards. This may include providing direction and guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Represent O&M and provide technical support and discipline specific review for mechanical system design from formulation through commissioning for Capital Projects.
  • Conduct field surveys to develop and verify Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, gather dimensional data for designs, verify asset information, and redline record drawings for changes resulting from construction.
  • As a Coordinator, develop, maintain, and archive engineering documentation in the Engineering Content Management System (ECMS) using current standards.
