Job Description

We are looking for a developer, passionate about technology and adopting modern software engineering practices to join us in an exciting journey to migrate to and develop our applications in the AWS cloud. In this role, you will work on a back-end team alongside our Business Partners and Product Owners and motivated team of developers in an Agile environment. You will help us in doing POCs to validate patterns proposed by our architecture and platform teams and help deploy micro-services to production. You will also help create and externalize APIs to deliver data using modern, cloud-based patterns to internal and external consumers. Ideal candidate will have a strong focus on delivering code that is observable and resilient while utilizing shift left testing ideals.

Essential Functions
  • Works independently with customers to analyze and compile business requirements for large and/or complex applications. Using a variety of software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications and other tools, researches, designs, codes or configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents and maintains customer-focused programming solutions, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards, and aligning with the Information Services (IS) architectural design and customer’s business needs.
  • May also code, test and implement software enhancements and/or apply patches, as well as prepare the appropriate documentation to support a new system or to record modifications that have been made to existing application programs.
  • Employs a deep technical expertise across multiple disciplines, and a broad understanding of the set of the applications for which the team is responsible, as well as the business processes supported by those applications to perform the following: drive risk assessment by developing, implementing and evaluating system design strategies, specifications and models; provide process leadership for work groups and lead in product/service delivery strategy and work plans; own the resolution for product, implementation and/or functionality issues, and provide deep troubleshooting support.
  • Leads projects (or a phase of a project) to successful completion.
  • Mentors less senior team members, and is accountable as a role model for customer service excellence.
  • Provides forward-thinking technical leadership for application development, and utilizing an understanding of both the current and future states of the technology, is able define and articulate pros, cons and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience related field Required
  • 7 years of relevant experience that includes developing and supporting applications Preferred
  • Agile, SAFe methodologies and tools including JIRA and BitBucket
  • Experience with AWS development and design including Lambda, SQS, SNS, MSK, EKS, DynamoDB, CDK, et al
  • Mentoring and coaching others is expected. You will also help upskill the department towards adopting cloud technologies by facilitating and participating in tech dojos etc.
  • Strong Experience with Python, Java, Spring Boot, Git, Maven, ANSI SQL, Unit testing and RESTful testing tools
  • Experience with event driven architectures and software design patterns especially enterprise integration patterns
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate ideas, and analysis
  • Ability to lead development of a project or major phase of a project

  • Experience in Healthcare

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Apache Camel, Go, Typescript
