John G. Waite Associates, Architects PLLC, a leading historic preservation architectural firm, is seeking a full-time on-site Proposal Manager to join our firm in Albany, NY.

This position requires a motivated and flexible team player, who is able to manage on-going projects, as well as last-minute tasks within narrow time constraints. The ideal candidate will be out-going, well-organized and able to take direction, while being able to contribute new ideas and solutions.

The Proposal Manager will report directly to the Senior Principal, but will work with all levels of staff during the course of proposal development in both our Albany and New York City offices.   Major duties include proposal creation (RFQ and RFP responses), coordinating and filling out government agency forms/templates, management and coordination of various marketing tasks, and developing and editing copy.

The Proposal Manager must be able to demonstrate skill at writing, editing, and proofreading copy for proposals, as well as interview presentations, award submissions and other marketing materials, including the updating of resumes and project description sheets. Day-to-day work is a mix of independent tasks and working as part of a team. Attention to detail is critical, as many of the proposals are for government agencies.  

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or technically related field.
• At least three years of similar experience producing marketing materials and graphics within the A/E/C industry preferred (specific historic preservation experience a plus).
• High proficiency in desktop publishing software – InDesign and Photoshop, as well as MS Office.

Salary Range:

$50,000.00 to $65,000.00 - Commensurate with experience.
