Spring 2025 Pollner Professorship
The School of Journalism at the University of Montana is taking applications through May 31, 2024, for the Spring 2025 T. Anthony Pollner Distinguished Professorship.

The focus of the spring semester professorship can be in any of the following specializations: visual storytelling, audio journalism, online journalism, database reporting and infographics, or the business of journalism.

The successful candidate will pitch and teach a course relating to his/her/their specialization; co-advise staff of the Montana Kaimin, UM’s independent student newsroom; and give a workshop on campus during the school’s annual High School Journalism Day.

Recent Pollner professors include the former editor-in-chief of National Geographic, a Pulitzer-prize winning feature photographer; a national data journalist; and multiple feature writers and editors named among Pulitzer and National Magazine Award winners.

The stipend is $42,000 and housing is provided. This is not a remote position and the successful candidate will be expected to live and spend the vast majority of their time in Missoula, Montana, from Jan. 11-May 10, 2025.

Please apply via this online form, and we ask that you not apply unless you'd be able to accept an offer from the selection committee.
