Become a member of one of Western Massachusett's largest emergency service providers!

Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Hospital Crisis Counselor at Behavioral Health Network! Hospital Crisis Counselors work within our Crisis teams based at local emergency departments, completing intakes and triage with individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis prior to receiving crisis assessments.  Crisis Counselors are engaged in supervision and training and have the opportunity to learn and develop a variety of clinical skills in this position.

BHN’s Crisis Program provides 24/7 front line response to individuals of all ages who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis, regardless of insurance. BHN provides services on a mobile basis, including home and community-based settings or in an emergency department when needed.

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Additionally, BHN is a Tobacco Free workplace. All Staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors agree not to smell of or use Tobacco or ENDS products while on paid work time or within sight of any BHN facility.

Job Requirements:

Crisis Counselors at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • Prior mental health experience (required)
  • Understanding of crisis intervention (preferred)
  • Able to work independently(required)
  • Good organizational and critical thinking skills. (require)
  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. (required)
  • Able to collaborate with consumers and those involved in their care (clinicians, providers).
  • Have reliable transportation  (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or human service field ( required). Masters-currently enrolled (preferred).
