Job Summary

The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is an independent, non-profit court improvement organization.  NCSC's services--consulting, education, research, information services, association management and technical assistance--are focused on helping courts plan, make decisions, and implement improvements that save time and money, while ensuring judicial administration that supports fair and impartial decision-making.
 
The Court Consulting Services Division located in Denver, Colorado is seeking to fill two Business Analyst positions. Positions are responsible for work that supports court consulting projects and includes analyzing primary and secondary data, writing findings and reports and providing project and administrative support.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbents will be responsible for supporting the Court Management Consultants as encompassed by the duties below and other relevant tasks as assigned.

  • Assisting in data collection, analysis and presentation;
  • Conducting research through on-line and in-person and telephone interviews;
  • Reviewing and analyzing primary and secondary data;
  • Writing and editing findings and reports;
  • Project Management assistance, using project management software; Providing program and administrative support;
  • Monitoring project budgets;
  • Assisting in producing interim and final reports for publication electronically and otherwise; including editing and formatting reports and other deliverables;
  • Participating in site visits including assisting with note taking, interviews, focus groups and handling logistics.

Qualifications

To be considered for the positions applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, the social sciences, or other relevant area of study; a Master's degree, law degree or legal education is highly desirable; or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work;
  • A minimum of three years' experience performing project support, data collection/analysis or other relevant work that demonstrates the ability to perform effectively in the position;
  • Ability to review and analyze information and data and form conclusions about the information;
  • Ability to conduct research on topics and present data/information in narrative, quantitative and visual formats;
  • Ability to prioritize work and to perform assignments independently;
  • Demonstration of initiative and proven ability to recommend solutions to problems and new strategies;
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team members and clients;
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office in Windows environment and demonstrated ability to work and publish in social media; and
  • Ability to travel (overnight, out-of-state).
