Software Engineer – Investment Technology
Job: Reporting directly to Director of Investment Technology, the Software of Investment Technology will join an experienced, agile professional team in a highly collaborative environment, using modern technology and software development techniques to design, implement, and maintain modern APIs, data pipelines, and backend data platforms to support and further develop the technology infrastructure for the organization’s Quantitative and Fundamental investment groups.
Key responsibilities: • Develop pipelines and libraries to retrieve data and perform computations, create front-end applications to interact with data, innovate next level data science and analytics systems to enhance research and management • Collaborate with financial analysts and portfolio managers to build, analyze, and improve our proprietary investment management applications • Develop performant Python packages to enhance productivity of quantitative researchers by providing common interfaces for performing computation across large data sets and for evaluating results • Build and update containerized yet scalable applications using: Object-Oriented Design, Python, Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Git, SQL Server, Redis, Snowflake, Parquet, etc. in a hybrid cloud environment • Design new web applications to visualize and explore time series data generated by investment management applications by writing & testing abstract computations and quantitative codes • Maintain and organize processed forecast data pipeline in cloud, then facilitate access for Capital Markets and Asset Management financial investment team members by building and maintaining intuitive APIs • Become technical leader in breaking down team work, iteratively shipping well-crafted code to entire team, while continuously seeking feedback from all other team members.
Job Requirement: Master's degree in Quantitative/Mathematical Finance, Computational Finance, or related Financial Engineering field AND minimum of 2+ YEARS progressive experience working as Software Engineer, Financial Data Analyst, or Lead of Investment Analytics in a Capital Markets and Asset Management firm setting. Candidate must also be skilled in: Object-Oriented Design, Python, Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Git, SQL Server, Redis, Snowflake, Parquet, plus other applicable tools.
