  • Provides leadership, vision, and strategic planning for medication safety across the health system.
  • Establishes medication management standards through literature review, benchmarking, and collaboration.
  • Collaborates with administrative staff, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, IT&S, and others to develop and maintain safe medication practices.
  • Responsible for conducting medication safety assessments, developing/reviewing guidelines and policies, chairing the Medication Safety Committees, and for providing education and consultation regarding safe medication practices.
  • Monitors, reviews, and synthesizes recommendations from reported adverse drug events and trends.
  • Participates in RCA, FMEA, and quality reporting activities.
  • Participates in the formulary review process.
  • Participates in the review of relevant technologies and processes.
  • Work at each facility to appreciate site specific work flow.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy 
  • R. Ph - Pharmacist - Registered PhD or MS in Pharmacy required.
  • PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency (drug info/med safety) preferred.
  • 5+ hospital pharmacy experience required or equivalient training. 
  • Performance improvement and regulatory experience preferred.
  • Computer systems skills in spreadsheet, database and word processing preferred.
  • Must demonstrate highly effective written and oral communication skills.
