LATIN TEACHER Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung, NJ is seeking a full time Latin teacher to start this coming fall 2022. Teaching experience is preferred. The candidate will teach levels I-IV, including some mixed college-preparatory and honors courses. Our Latin program is treasured by our students; we are looking for a teacher who can teach the language actively and foster student enthusiasm for myths, history, and interdisciplinary classical connections. Our current program for levels I-III is Suburani. Qualifications: Master's degree (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Latin and/or Classics Demonstrated fluency in Latin Experience teaching Latin in an independent, single-sex school Ability to teach an additional language such as French, Italian, or Spanish is a plus Knowledge of current pedagogy and technology to enhance language learning Experience with CI and other active teaching methods preferred Current references that substantiate your teaching abilities, relationship with students and knowledge of content/language Skills/talents that can contribute to extracurricular activities and/or coaching a sports team We are also accepting applications for teachers of other foreign languages, including French, Italian, and Spanish.
