Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry/ENS

Position Summary:

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a fourteen-member department that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Chemistry Stockroom Manager will be responsible for managing stockroom and general chemistry laboratory spaces, preparing chemicals for general chemistry laboratories, managing undergraduate student workers, ordering chemicals and supplies and maintaining the safe handling of the department's chemical inventory as well as the safe handling of chemical wastes.

Characteristic Duties:

• Manages departmental stockroom

• Provides maintenance, ordering and organization of chemical inventory using appropriate safety procedures and regulations

• Assists General Chemistry Laboratory Director Serves on the department safety committee

• Maintains chemistry laboratory spaces

• Manages undergraduate student workers

• Provides safe handling of chemical wastes

• Serves as resource for college waste disposal

Other duties as required / needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or comparable degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters of Science degree in Chemistry or comparable graduate degree
