The Training Specialist’s primary function is developing and delivering customer education and optimization opportunities for EBSCO products, services, and enhancements. This includes the creation and maintenance of customer-facing video content, as well as delivery of live, online training for customers. The Training Specialist must be able to travel between 25%-50% of the time, must be an expert in EBSCO products and services, and must remain abreast of product changes in order to share updates with customers. The primary territory for this position includes the West Coast. In order to best support customers in this region, we prefer candidates are also located in the western U.S.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guiding learners across the lifecycle of their EBSCO products, including best practices and product expertise
  • Identifying desired customer learning objectives and outcomes, based on customer/stakeholder needs assessments
  • Arranging, researching, customizing, and conducting live (synchronous), online and onsite product training for customers
  • Developing and producing quality, branded educational videos and guided learning paths for our products
  • Proactively building territory plans for assigned territory/market with input from Management and Sales
  • Tracking and reporting on all customer activities
  • Maintaining in-depth product knowledge, including understanding of future enhancements
  • Advocating on behalf of customers, providing suggestions and feedback regarding product enhancements and improvements in order to improve product quality

Skills 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of training delivery experience
  • 2+ years of library industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical acumen - for development of in-depth technical product knowledge and video development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Located on the West Coast
  • Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS or MLS), or equivalent degree
  • Prior experience administering EBSCO products
  • 1+ year(s) of experience developing eLearning video content using Camtasia or other similar programs
  • Experience with library systems management
  • Experience hosting live sessions via WebEx, Zoom, Teams, or other web conferencing tools
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of instructional design and evaluation methodologies
