Job Summary
Come help us cure diabetes! We are a fun energetic lab devoted to unraveling the mysteries of how excess dietary fat impairs satiety, energy expenditure, and glucose regulation. Our studies of the lipid signaling pathways within helps us gain insight into novel strategies to improve insulin sensitivity, promote weight loss, and re-invigorate insulin production. We take advantage of, and produce murine models which are diabetes prone or diabetes resistant. Job duties will include colony management, in vivo phenotyping, dissection, survival surgery, and biochemical measurements from serum and tissue. We are looking for long-term team members, with good hands and some research experience who share a passion for conquering diabetes. All experience levels will be considered. Salary will be commensurate with experience. 
Responsibilities
1. Performs physical, chemical, and/or biological tests according to established procedures.
2. Prepares specimens according to established laboratory practices.
3. Follows prescribed procedures for maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities.
4. Prepares reagents, compounds, solutions and other media for research experimentation.
5. Assists with inventory, ordering and stocking laboratory supplies and equipment.
6. Maintains records of research data and may prepare charts or illustrations for the Principal Investigator.
7. May care for experimental animals, observe animals’ conditions and report unusual developments to the Principal Investigator.
8. May prepare animals for experimental procedures, administer drugs as instructed and assist in surgeries.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education); one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
