Highlands School District Payroll/Benefits Secretary

The Highlands School District is accepting applications for the position of Payroll and Benefits Secretary.

Successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Associate Degree: Administrative Assistant, Accounting, Business Management or Business Administration required
  • Previous payroll and benefit experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated proficiency on a ten-key calculator
  • Computer experience with emphasis in word processing, spreadsheets and financial reporting systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills in a multi-task, fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of secretarial practices, basic office procedures & equipment
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities include performing all activities necessary to:

  • Process and generate a bi-monthly payroll
  • Administer the district’s health and welfare program
  • Administer worker’s compensation program with a high degree of confidentiality.
