Corelle Brands, LLC. seeks Sr. Product Design Engineer in Riverside, CA. Owns engineering aspects of product development projects including: timing associated with engineering tasks, product cost, product functionality, testing, material selection and manufacturability from preliminary feasibility to pilot production. Conduct Tolerance and fit studies as required. Coordinate the construction of DFMEA's. Construct technical development plans. Construct test / product qualification plans. Create 3D and 2D CAD models. Write product specification. Coordinate manufacture of test/development models. Prepare and route ECN's. Advise Project Manager on engineering aspects of assigned projects. Participate in NPD team meetings and resolution of product design conflicts which may arise through the NPD cycle.

Coordinate technical compromises between product design, mold/tooling design, and manufacturing to obtain products at acceptable quality, function, and cost. Prepare presentations, recruit peers and conduct meetings as required to resolve technical issues. Establish and maintain good working relationships with tooling suppliers, internal manufacturing and external manufacturing partners. Support prioritization of work and coordinate integration of temporary hires when required. Contribute to maintenance of Engineering Systems (general specifications, test methods, drawing updates and other engineering documents. Conduct and participate in audits and issue corrective and preventive actions as required to sustain continuous improvement. Constructs basic development approach for each project. Aligns development and qualification plan/s to product requirements (Brand standard as well as consumer, customer and manufacturing needs).

Supports/evaluates product change requests on established products when required. Requires a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development Engineering or related field plus 1.5 years of experience. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience. Design engineering/product development experience. Experience in stage gate product development. Experience in glass, ceramics, metal stamped & injection molded plastic parts. Experience in 3D surface modeling, DFM, DFA, DFMEA, Statistical tolerancing. Knowledge of manufacturing methods (injection molding, blow molding, metal stamping, forging and casting, glass forming), gained through any amount of work experience or university level coursework.
